东华大学先进低维材料中心（Center for Advanced Low-dimension Materials，CALM）（简称“中心”）是依托东华大学学科优势，新建设的人才集聚、机制创新和设备先进的直属研究机构。中心主任兼首席科学家（荣誉）由国际高分子科学界的领军人物担任，并建设有由相应领域国际学术大师和产业专家代表组成的国际学术委员会指导中心科研战略。

先进低维材料追求材料的性能极限——更细、更薄、更轻、更柔、更强，其通过对物质或能量的调控提供性能更优的基础材料，促进着生命健康、智能生活、航空航天、深地深海等领域的升级变革。

中心的建设目标为“人才汇聚、学科交叉、技术集成、高效运行、原始创新、国际一流”，旨在以国际低维材料研究前沿为先导，重点开展低维材料的基础及应用等研究，力争在能源开发、环境保护、航空深海等领域形成原始创新成果并实现产业化，为国家创新驱动发展战略实施和上海科创中心建设作贡献。

      Center for Advanced Low-dimension Materials (CALM), established in October 2015, is a research institute directly-affiliated with Donghua University (DHU).  Advanced low-dimensional materials, which pursue the performance limit of material - finer, thinner, lighter, softer and stronger, promote deep changes in the fields of life and health, intelligent life, aerospace, deep under-ground and deep sea explorations. To be recognized as one of the best academic programs in China, for our positive impact on humanity through contributions to and leadership in developing new advanced low dimensional materials.
