摘要:In the optical high technological field, polymer materials have been widely applied in industrial productions to replace expensive inorganic materials. In this talk, three specific examples are going to giving by utilizing linear susceptibility: compensation optical thin films in liquid crystal display, optical rotator in optical communications, and three-dimensional photonic crystals in full reflection of lights at selected wavelength. It is particularly emphasized that molecular designs on multiple length scales of macromolecules to achieve desired optical properties are critically important and key to successes of these projects. It shows that in order to develop industrial products, close collaborations between academic researchers and industrial personals are required. A team of chemists, physicists and engineering who are closely working together are necessary to create novel ideas, innovative approaches, and new processing technologies. 


主讲人简介:程正迪,美国工程院院士,阿克隆大学TrusteesDistinguished教授,著名高分子物理学家、材料科学家,高分子科学界领军人物。2007-2014年,任阿克隆大学高分子科学与工程学院院长,领衔创建了美国国家高分子创新中心。兼任《Polymer》杂志资深主编、北美热分析及量热学学会会士、美国物理学会会士、美国科学促进会会士、中国化学会荣誉会士、美国化学会高分子材料科学和工程分会会士;还担任上海有机化学研究所的名誉教授,复旦大学、上海交通大学等机构的顾问(客座)教授。
